What better way to start your Friday than with our weekly round-up of some of the many sweet treats we’ve eaten this week.

1. Banana & carrot cake from Kayu Cafe on Gili Trawangan, Indonesia.  Helen saved it from a watery grave as she ran for her boat and slipped, dropping everything into the water.

2. A very nice Bakewell tart from Blendworth Furnishings Café and Terrace Garden, Horndean. Too hot to sit outside so we had to sit inside. This was our coffee stop on our cycle ride.

3. Warm chocolate & pecan brownie served with vanilla ice-cream was my dessert at Restaurant 69, Southsea for Sunday lunch with the family. We all thoroughly enjoyed listening to the FB Pocket Orchestra who were playing live whilst we were eating.

4. Daelman’s Caramel Stroopwafel. I bought this to take home with me from Compton Village Shop & Tearooms where I sat outside and had a lovely cappuccino and a slice of Victoria Sponge cake whilst out cycling.

5. Rhubarb & elderflower sponge cake from The Pavilion, Stansted Park, Rowlands Castle. A very light, fresh and bouncy cake which I ate with a rather tasty raspberry lemonade from Belvoir Fruit FarmsI shall definitely be buying a bottle of that when I’m next in Waitrose.

Living life, loving cake,

A x
