Lick Me I’m Delicious!

If you haven’t heard of Lick Me I’m Delicious, you will soon. Taking the ice cream world by storm, young entrepreneur Charlie Harry Francis is set to launch his latest invention late 2012. After winning funding in a national competition run by Barclays Bank, the welsh born Willy Wonka created his first ice cream contraption in 2011, which combines ice cream with liquid nitrogen, and launched Lick Me I’m Delicious. I first came across Charlie and his team during last week’s Ice Cream Festival at Kings Cross. They were on hand to dish out free samples of their award-winning ice cream. Lick Me I’m Delicious mix a variety of unique flavours in old fashioned mixers situated on their ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ style portable parlour.

Charlie presented me with a small cup delicately made from white chocolate. Salted caramel and chocolate cookie flavoured ice cream sparingly filled the cup. The ice cream was delicious and I loved the hard cookie pieces which certainly set it apart from other salted caramel flavours at the festival. The chocolate cup was pretty tasty too!

So impressed, I queued up for the second flavour on offer; black port and stilton ice cream served on a biscuit. This extraordinarily wacky flavour included real chunks of stilton cheese infused within the ice cream which although unusual, tasted great! The combination of port and biscuit meant that the cheese flavouring didn’t taste out of place within the ice cream. It was like having a cheese board for dessert, a unique blend of sweet and savoury which seems to works perfectly. Lick Me I’m Delicious offer ice cream flavours as equally eccentric as their personality. I got a real sense of adventure and passion for flavour from them. Currently touring around the UK in their portable parlour, there is no doubt you will see more of Lick Me I’m Delicious in the not so distant future, as they launch yet another contraption. I really hope they find a permanent base which allows this fantastic quirky venture to grow. Check out the latest from Lick Me I’m Delicious Here.
